Gladys Owusu

 

Gladys Owusu started with the SGMC team in 2015 as a state registered nurse. She had her specialty training in critical care and completed her initial nursing studies in 2010. She is a registered member of the Critical Nurses Group, Ghana and the American Association of Critical Care (AACN). Gladys previously worked at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH) in Kumasi (A/R) from 2005 to 2013 at both the Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit and later moved to the Burns and Plastic Surgery Intensive Care Unit (BICU) as the first critical care nurse specialist. Thereafter Gladys expanded her nursing skills by working at the National Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, followed by Nyaho Medical Center as the Deputy OPD in-charge from 2013 to 2015. Gladys has over 12 years’ experience in patient care, wound management, cancer care, and nursing of critically ill patients. Her greatest interest is in hospital bound infection prevention. She oversees SGMC’s training initiatives around infection control, and also actively participates in cross-function projects at the Company.
