Dr Clement Edusa - Medical Director
Dr. Clement Egyin Edusa has been with SGMC since 2014, first as Head of Oncology, and in 2016, being appointed as Medical Director. Dr. Edusa has had extensive training in the field of oncology, having received his initial medical education in Russia – followed by specialization in clinical and radiation oncology at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana. He has also completed advanced oncology training in South Africa. In addition to being registered to practice in Ghana, Dr. Edusa is a registered member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Owing to his in-depth oncology expertise especially around cancer treatment in Africa, he has both published papers and presented at international conferences on issues such as Prostate Cancer Management, Breast Cancer Risks, and Treating Cancers Prevalent in Ghana. Dr. Edusa is supported by a widely experienced team of medical oncology professionals at SGMC who have also received acclaim for their work at international level.
Ahmed Acheamfour - Pharmacist
Ahmed Owusu-Ansah Acheamfour is our Pharmacist (Oncology) who joined the SGMC team in 2018. He is a Registered Pharmacist and a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana with over 4 years practicing experience. Prior to joining SGMC, he worked as the Pharmacist-In-Charge and Head of Pharmacy at Raphal Medical Centre in Tema where he led a team of professionals to provide the best pharmaceutical care for patients in general medicine for 4 years. He had worked as an Intern Pharmacist and then a Contract Pharmacist at Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong-Akuapem where he was a store pharmacist and in charge of the Anti-Retroviral Therapy Unit of the hospital from October 2012 to March 2014. He seeks to provide the very best in pharmaceutical care to all and sundry with the smile on a patient’s face his ultimate gain. At SGMC, Ahmed has received requisite training in the handling, reconstitution and storage of cytotoxic medicines.

Enyonam Adzo Fugar - Chemotherapy Nurse
Enyonam Adzo Fugar (Chemotherapy Nurse) RGN, Deg. Oncology Nursing, MD Nursing and a member of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Ghana. Enyonam had her initial nursing training in Ho Nurses Training College and obtained her Diploma in General nursing in 2008, before working as a general nurse for 5 years. She subsequently trained as an Oncology nurse and obtained her first Degree in Oncology Nursing in 2013 at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. She did her internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, St Luke Hospice, Rondebosch Oncology Unit – all in South Africa. Enyonam obtained her Master’s Degree in the same field, where her primary research was on the role of nurses in the care of cancer-diagnosed patients (Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Bellville-Cape Town, South Africa). She worked as a chemotherapy nurse in the National Center for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for almost two years before officially joining SGMC in 2016 as a chemotherapy nurse. Here in SGMC, she sees to day-to-day activities of our patients undergoing chemotherapy, arranging counseling sessions for new patients to commence chemotherapy and handling follow-up care for patients. She is one of the few oncology trained nurses in Ghana.
Cecile Akue - Case Support Officer
Cecile Akue is a bilingual case support officer at SGMC who joined the case management unit in 2017. Cecile’s job is to provide administrative support for SGMC’s Case Coordinators as well as families, sponsors and patients, helping them to access the SGMC facility, navigate through clinical processes and complete their treatment outcomes. She ensures our Francophone patients in particular can complete their treatments with efficient support for their logistical needs. Cecile received her degree in Business Law at the University of Nongo Conakry and also studied English at the Centre of Languages and Professional English Studies. She did training in Health and Safety Management at Phanoeco Ltd. Cecile previously worked as an intern secretary at Societe des Eaux Guinea, and also spent a one-year internship in academia teaching entrepreneurship after the successful completion of her English studies.

Gladys Owusu - OPD Nurse
Gladys Owusu started with the SGMC team in 2015 as a state registered nurse. She had her specialty training in critical care and completed her initial nursing studies in 2010. She is a registered member of the Critical Nurses Group, Ghana and the American Association of Critical Care (AACN). Gladys previously worked at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH) in Kumasi (A/R) from 2005 to 2013 at both the Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit and later moved to the Burns and Plastic Surgery Intensive Care Unit (BICU) as the first critical care nurse specialist. Thereafter Gladys expanded her nursing skills by working at the National Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, followed by Nyaho Medical Center as the Deputy OPD in-charge from 2013 to 2015. Gladys has over 12 years’ experience in patient care, wound management, cancer care, and nursing of critically ill patients. Her greatest interest is in hospital bound infection prevention. She oversees SGMC’s training initiatives around infection control, and also actively participates in cross-function projects at the Company.
Stephanie Esther Hayibor - OPD Nursing Assistant
Stephanie Esther Hayibor has been a nursing assistant at SGMC since 2013. We depend on Stephanie to make a positive first impression as she is amongst the first people our patients see when they come to SGMC for treatment. Stephanie had her training at Narh-Bita school of nursing, where she was trained to assist doctors and nurses to deliver quality care to patients. At SGMC she prepares patients by taking and recording vital signs. She also helps to prepare treatment rooms and is responsible for storing and setting up medical equipment. Patient care and wellbeing have always been her hallmark. Stephanie previously received training at Lancet Laboratory as a phlebotomist, learning to take patient samples and specimens. She has also received customer care training, industrial fire protection and basic life support training while she has been at SGMC.

Willbright Aware - ICT Assistant
Willbright Aware joined SGMC in 2014, and after working in various logistical roles, he was promoted to the position of ICT Officer in November 2017. Willbright’s is our IT system Administrator and ensures the smooth installation and configuration of SGMC servers and other devices, One core responsibilities are to assist the outsourced ICT vendors MultiThread with maintaining the day to day operations and smooth running of the Company’s ICT network and also Manage the companies Website. He is the go-to person for all IT helpdesk issues. Willbright has Diploma in System Engineering, CompTIA A + ,Linux Fundamentals, CCNA, Server Infrastructure (Level 1 and 2). Currently, he is pursuing an advanced professional diploma in System Engineering(Level 3) at IPMC. Willbright has also dedicated himself to helping train all our staff to be more proficient with computer technology, and is currently running IT skills workshops for our housekeepers and security staff.

Olivia Owusua Addo - HR Officer
Olivia Owusua Addo is our caring Human Resource Officer and a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP). She holds an EDEXCEL National Diploma in Social Care with Psychology from the Newham College, Eastham-London, a BA (Hons) Human Resource Management and an Msc in International Business Management, all at the University of East London Business School, Docklands, UK. Back in the UK, Olivia worked for five years at the Barts Health NHS Trust- London as a Health Care Support worker and later on as an Employee Relations Officer. Olivia’s keen interest is in the concept of emotional labor – the regulation of employee emotions and expression for organizational purpose. In 2015 and after over 10 years in the UK, Olivia made the decision to relocate back to Ghana. Olivia added an extra dose of empathy to SGMC when she joined the Business Services team in 2016. Employees are frequently seen in her office for friendly and professinal advice and support on various HR issues. She supports with the employee life cycle i.e. recruiting, screening and interviewing process of new employees. Olivia is also largely responsible for drafting employee policies and making sure all staff get the career support and training they need. She makes it a point of attending all social events – from weddings, funerals, to baby-naming ceremonies – to represent the company. She also handles the complex logistics for our interns and locums who are coming from abroad.

Kingsley Obeng - Housekeeping Assistant
Kingsley Obeng joined SGMC as a housekeeper in 2017. Our SGMC housekeeping team is continuously busy dusting, mopping and sweeping patient reception and treatment areas, clinical planning and imaging units as well as administrative offices. They maintain a very high level of cleanliness and hygiene, and are all specially trained in infection control practices and patient caregiving support. You will also often find them helping out with supporting the Case Management team with patient logistics such as transferring patients to and from wheelchairs.
Festus Adinkrah-Kosopre - Accounts Officer
Festus Adinkrah Kosopre plays a key role in SGMC’s Business Services unit as the lead Accounts Officer. He joined the company in 2014. In addition to managing accounting compliance with statutory authorities, Festus is also responsible for compiling, analyzing and preparing SGMC’s financial information into required reporting formats. Festus completed his BSc in Accounting at the University of Professional Studies (Accra) in 2014, and graduates with an MBA in Accounting and Finance through the same institution in July 2018. Before his studies, Festus held an administrative position at the Customary Land Secretariat at Drobo, Brong Ahafo and was a research assistant at Waltex Consulting. Festus has already completed Part II of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA) programme in Ghana, and is yet to complete Part III in November 2018.

Eric Amoako has been with SGMC since 2011, and is the Maintenance Lead for the company where he is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functioning of our facilities as part of the Technical Services unit. Eric supervises all maintenance services such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, waste disposal, recycling, installations, troubleshooting and building repairs. Before joining SGMC, Eric worked with Solana Electrical where he acted as Assistant Supervisor on projects at 37 Military Hospital and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Eric completed certified courses as an Electrical Engineering Technician in 2007, and recently became certified as an Electrical Wiring Professional through the Energy Commission training in 2015.

Dr Clement Egyin Edusa a commencé à travailler à SGMC depuis 2014, en tant que chef du département oncologie et depuis 2016, en tant que directeur médical. Dr. Edusa a suivi une formation approfondie dans le domaine de l’oncologie. Après avoir reçu son éducation médicale initiale en Russie, suivie d’une spécialisation en oncologie clinique et radiologique à Korle Bu Teaching Hospital au Ghana. Il a continué sa formation en oncologie avancée en Afrique du Sud. En plus d’être inscrit à la pratique au Ghana, le Dr Edusa est membre enregistré de la Société européenne d’oncologie médicale et de l’American Society of Clinical Oncologie. En raison de son expertise approfondie en oncologie, en particulier dans le traitement du cancer en Afrique, il a publié des articles et présenté des conférences internationales sur des questions telles que la gestion du cancer de la prostate, les risques de cancer du sein et le traitement des cancers prévalent au Ghana. Dr. Edusa est soutenu par une équipe largement expérimentée de professionnels de l’oncologie médicale à SGMC qui ont également été récompensés pour leur travail au niveau international.
Edward Banson - Gestion des cas
Edward Banson est un professionnel du marketing agréé avec plus de 20 ans d’expérience dans le marketing de diverses marques commerciales et à but non lucratif dans plusieurs industries au Ghana. Il a été employé en tant que directeur du marketing chez SGMC en octobre 2014, puis nommé responsable de la gestion des cas où son équipe et lui traitent tous les renvois aux médecins, les communications avec les patients, la logistique médicale et le soutien du traitement. Edward a étudié au Central University College. Il est également titulaire d’un Master au Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology et est membre du Chartered Institute of Marketing (Royaume-Uni). Il a également assisté à plusieurs séminaires et conférences en oncologie à la fois sur le plan local et international depuis qu’il était employé dans le centre du cancer. Edward collabore avec des professionnels de la santé autour de la sous-région de l’Afrique de l’Ouest pour fournir une assistance en soins oncologiques aux personnes atteintes de cancer dans cette partie du monde.
